• MINIMISING CONSUMPTION

Our factory is a “passive room”, which means that we can keep the temperature at 22-23 degrees without using heat or air conditioning. We have achieved this by strategically placing the doors to open and close and work off the heat generated from the machines.

All of our lighting is on sensors, to keep our energy waste to a minimum.

We keep our water consumption as low as possible by recycling all the steam from our steaming machines. We also filter and purify the water we do use, which enables us to use less soap to wash the garments.

"We try and recycle everything and minimise everything we can, from the lighting systems through to the way we produce steam".

  • ZERO WASTE

We're proud to have reached a point where we have zero production waste. Any waste yarn, offcuts or waste materials, such as yarn cones, are donated to social enterprises like ReCreate, where the materials are used for art classes in schools and special needs facilities.

We also donate some of our yarn to local community knitting groups who knit blankets, scarfs and hats for charities and people in need.

"At this stage we have zero production waste. We recently started working with a social enterprise called ReCreate. They sometimes leave here with boxes full of off-cuts, which they distribute to schools and special needs schools, so they take pretty much all of our production waste".
